New digital signs coming to Broadway

The old sign, on which letters had to be placed by hand, is being upgraded to a new digital display from Ad Media LED Signs in Florrisant, Missouri. The company provides digital signs for several McDonald's restaurants owned by Dick Bold, who also has stores in Godfrey, Bethalto, Hamel and Edwardsville.

ALTON — Employees of Dale Sign Service from St. Louis on Friday removed the old sign frame on the new McDonald's at the corner of Ridge Street and East Broadway.

The old sign, on which letters had to be placed by hand, is being upgraded to a new digital display from Ad Media LED Signs in Florrisant, Missouri.

The company provides digital signs for several McDonald's restaurants owned by Dick Bold, who also has stores in Godfrey, Bethalto, Hamel and Edwardsville.

John Badman is a 1982 graduate of SIU-Carbondale, with a major in cinema and photography and a minor in law enforcement administration of justice. He has worked at The Telegraph in Alton full-time for 39 years and has been named the National Press Photographers Association's Region-5 Photographer of the Year six times.
