Tacky Tour Golf Classic: The Central Fort Bend Chamber will host its annual Tacky Tour Golf Classic, presented by Finnegan Auto Group & Ally Bank, on Monday, Aug. 29, at Sweetwater Country Club. Check-in for the event will begin at 7 a.m. with the complimentary Tough Putt Competition at 8:30 a.m. and shotgun start at 9 a.m. The Tacky Tour Golf Classic aims to raise funds for Central Fort Bend Chamber’s programs and activities. Teams of four are $850 for Chamber Members and $1,050 for Prospective Members. Individuals are welcome to register as well. Registration includes breakfast, lunch, select beverages, a player gift bag, and more. Prizes will be given to first- and second-place team; Tackiest (Best Dressed) Team; Closest to the Pin; and Longest Drive. Salsa dance lessons: Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sugar Land Branch Library will have a special 5-part series of “Salsa Dance Lessons” on Thursdays, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room of the library at 550 Eldridge. Local dance instructors Loy and Bernardine Farmer will provide a basic introduction to the Salsa, an energetic partner-style of dance based on simple, repetitive movements. In this 5-part series, the instructors will demonstrate everything from cross-body leads to basic underarm turns. Participants are requested to come as a dancing pair; solo participants cannot be paired with a partner. Because space is limited to 15 couples, registration is required. Participants should include their partner’s name when registering. The series is free and open to the public. Richmond Farmers Market: The Richmond Farmers Market is held the first Friday of the month from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Old Fire Station at Corner of Second and Jackson streets, 112 Jackson St. The market is held in conjunction with the Development Corporation of Richmond and the City of Richmond.

British Rock tribute: The Fab 5’s British Invasion Show — The Ultimate Tribute to 60’s British Rock is scheduled for 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Sugar Land Town Square, 15958 City Walk Drive in Sugar Land. The fan favorite Fab 5 is back but this time for their British Invasion Show which covers music from The Animals to The Zombies including favorites such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who, The Dave Clark Five, The Hollies, Herman’s Hermits, The Moody Blues, and so much more. Hope For Three Family Fun Run: The third annual, Walk, Run, Stroll or Roll for All Abilities, kicks off Sept. 3-11, 2022. Car Culture Show 2022: Car Culture Show 2022 is held bi-monthly from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sundays in the Alamo Theater parking lot in LaCenterra at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy. Fall book sale: The Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library will host a Fall Book Sale on Saturday, September 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, which is located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd. in Katy. Most items are available for $1 or less. Cash or checks are accepted. Donations of used books, DVDs, and CDs are always welcome, and may be taken to the library during regular business hours. The event will take place in the Alamo Theater parking lot. Dock Dogs will present their high-flying canine action. Fair parade: The Fort Bend County Fair parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Jackson Street (Highway 90) through Richmond and Avenue H as it moves through Rosenberg ending near the Fiesta Mart at Lawrence Street. The parade kicks off the 10-day run of the Fort Bend County Fair.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s: The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled for 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 24, at LaCenterra, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy. The event is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association of Houston. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. There will be live music and entertainment; a tribute to those who have experienced Alzheimer’s; snacks and beverages; and on-side vendors. Texas Coastal Prairie Conference: Preserving lands and legacies: The Texas Coastal Prairie Initiative, made up of 25 conservation organizations, will bring landowners and conservation partners together to discuss the preservation of wide-open spaces in Texas. The conference will include a full day of workshops and presentations from 9 a.m-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, followed by field trips to remnant and restored prairies as well as working ranches and farms from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The conference takes place at University of Houston-Clear Lake Bayou Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, TX 77058. The cost is $85 or $45 for students.
