It's the time of the year when league championships are decided and playoff pushes are made.

Our top five teams, Archbishop Hoban, Highland, Hudson, Walsh Jesuit and St. Vincent-St. Mary, are all going to make the playoffs and likely play at home. There are many other teams who are headed for playoff berths but who and where they will play will be decided in the next two weeks.

The Explorers have already clinched at least a share of the Suburban League National Conference. The Hornets did the same in the American Conference with a 30-3 win over Aurora on Friday night.

Walsh Jesuit routed Parma Padua 35-0 to win the Crown Conference.

STVM scored a big win over previously unbeaten Cleveland Heights, 49-21, in a game with big playoff implications.

Two touchdown passes by Ty Hurst, one to Mark Manzo and one to Collin Dixon, give the Blue Devils a 35-21 lead late in the first half. A touchdown run by Hurst and a touchdown pass from Owens to Carter Noel makes it 42-28 Tallmadge at the half.

The Knights have run out to a 31-7 lead over Brecksville late in the first half.

The Warriors lead Parma Padua 35-0 at halftime and will have a running clock to start the second half in the game to decide the Crown Conference championship.

Two second-quarter touchdowns for the Vikings and they lead the Bulldogs 28-13 midway through the second quarter.

Copley quarterback DaOne Owens has run for two touchdowns and thrown for another and Tallmadge has an interception return for a touchdown by Nick Cuva and kickoff return for a touchdown by Collin Dixon and it's 21-21 in the second quarter.

Touchdown runs by Santino Harper and Markell Carter in the second quarter turned a 7-7 tie into a 21-7 lead for the Fighting Irish over undefeated Cleveland Heights.

The Knights have run out to a 17-7 lead over the Bees.

The unbeaten Knights have a 21-0 lead over the winless Bengals after the first quarter.
