CINCINNATI — VOTE NOW for the Week 5 Player of the Week:

Week 5 of the high school football season was filled with battles between unbeaten teams.

Two games were selected as the Friday Frenzy Games of the Week: Princeton vs. Lakota West and Covington Catholic vs. Beechwood Friday night. The former is a showdown between two undefeated Greater Miami Conference teams, while both CovCath and Beechwood are perennial state champion contenders in their respective classes.

The Lakota West Firebirds proved to be too much for the Vikings, winning 31-7.

CovCath was able to snap Beechwood's winning streak, which was the longest active winning streak in Kentucky, with a 31-14 win in Park Hills.

The stars came out to check out St. Xavier vs. Moeller. Joey Votto, Tyler Stephenson, Joe Mixon and the two biggest coaches in the city — Luke Fickell and Zac Taylor — were on the sideline for what would be a great game. Moeller won 20-17, improving to 4-0 this season.

Elder and La Salle faced two teams out of Louisville, Kentucky Friday night. The Panther defeated St. Xavier (KY) 24-13.

La Salle fell on the road to duPont Manual, 20-16.

Kings and Milford, both unbeaten, faced off in a colossal matchup in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. Kings won big, 41-7. They are in the top five in the state in Division II.

Wyoming has not lost in the regular season in over 60 games — and the streak continues with a 31-0 win over Reading.

Deer Park beat Taylor 34-27 in a tight game on homecoming.

Ryle beat Highlands in a shootout, 57-46.

A game-winning PAT helped Loveland to a 14-13 win over Lebanon. The win was Loveland's first of the season.

Cincinnati Country Day is 4-1 this season with a 32-20 win over Park Tudor out of Indianapolis.

Bethel-Tate won easily over Batavia, 49-7.

At Stargel Stadium, turnovers caused some issues for Hughes early on. Purcell led 14-0 before Hughes found life and rolled to a 46-28 win.
