The Brazil forward, his father, and the former executives of Barcelona and Santos are accused of hiding the true cost of his transfer with the alleged goal of cheating a private Brazilian company that claims to have been owed 40% of future transfers. Brazilian supermarket chain DIS says it acquired 40% of Neymar's rights directly from the player in 2009. But that it only received a percentage from 17 million euros that Barcelona paid Santos, when the true cost of the move was more than 80 million euros. All the accused deny any wrongdoing.

It was worth the trip to Japan for Keegan Bradley, who won the Zozo Championship with a 2-under 68, one shot ahead Rickie Fowler and Andrew Putnam for his first PGA Tour win in just over four years. Bradley bogeyed two of the last five holes, but came through with a key birdie putt on the 17th to give him a two-shot lead going in the 18th ahead of playing partners Fowler and Putnam. Brayden Schager threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Zion Bowens, Dedrick Parson added three short scoring runs and Hawaii cruised to a 31-16 victory over Nevada. The touchdown was set up when Viliami Fehoko forced and recovered a fumble by Fife at the Bulldogs’ 45-yard line. Fife put Fresno State (2-4, 1-1 Mountain West Conference) up 14-10 with a 7-yard scoring toss to Remigio with 1:09 remaining in the third quarter. Abraham Montano kicked a 28-yard field goal with 10 seconds left in the game to complete the scoring.

Jake Cronenworth hit a tiebreaking, two-run single with two outs in the seventh inning and the San Diego Padres rallied past the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 to advance to the NL Championship Series for the first time since 1998. The Padres stunned the 111-win Dodgers with a five-run seventh to win the best-of-five NL Division Series 3-1 in front of a raucous sellout crowd of 45,139 at Petco Park. San Diego will host the Philadelphia Phillies in Games 1 and 2 of an all-wild card NLCS on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Phillies beat the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves 8-3 earlier in the day to win their NLDS in four games.

Michael Stone had a goal and two assists and Nazem Kadri added a goal and an assist in Calgary’s four-goal first period, and the Flames held on to beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3. Mikael Backlund and Andrew Mangiapane also scored for Calgary, which won its second straight to open the season. Dan Vladar stopped 26 shots. Connor McDavid, Ryan McLeod and Cody Ceci had goals for the Oilers, and Leon Draisaitl had two assists. Justin Schultz and Jaden Schwartz scored in the third period for Seattle. Martin Jones had 19 saves through two periods, and Philip Grubauer stopped all five shots he faced in the third. Kolesar scored just 12 seconds in and Marchessault made it 2-0 at 3:07. Vegas' three-goal second pushed their lead to 5-0.
